Celina Olszak
Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice since September 1, 2020, Head of the Department of Business Informatics at the Faculty of Economics. Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of PGG since 2024.
Economist, author, co-author, or editor of more than 330 publications, including 15 monographs. She has been the manager or contractor of numerous research projects obtained through competitions, both international and national.
A scholarship holder of the Swiss Government at ETH Zurich, the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) at the University of Trier in Germany, and the Bekker Program at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.
Member of the Council for Higher Education, Science, and Innovation under the President of the Republic of Poland, the Committee on Organizational and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). She serves on the Committee of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, chairing the commission on economic matters (previously, from 2020–2024, the commission on IT infrastructure). The vice-chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Economic Universities in Poland, the chairwoman of the Regional Conference of Rectors of Academic Universities.
She has been decorated with the Medal of the National Education Commission, the Golden Cross of Merit, the Golden Laurel of Skills and Competence, the “Pearl in the Crown of the Republic of Poland” medal on the 30th Anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, and awards from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding organizational achievements. She has also received the Badge “For Merit to Public Finance of the Republic of Poland,” the Centenary Ring of Independence of the Republic of Poland, and the “Meritorious for Polish Science Sapientia et Veritas” medal.
